Eduardo Motta - Artista Visual

Estudied at the Federal University of Fine Arts in Minas Gerais, where he was a student of the sculptor Amílcar de Castro. He won the Fiat Prize for his Public Image Project (1988) and took part in several group exhibitions, including Velha Mania / 20 Anos de Desenho Brasileiro (Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, Rio de Janeiro, 1985) and Utopias Contemporâneas (Palácio das Artes, Belo Horizonte, 1992). He exhibited individually at Itaú Cultural (Belo Horizonte, 1981). After being absent from the exhibition circuit for three decades, he resumed his participation in the debate six years ago by expanding his studies in contemporary art with critic and curator Tiago Mesquita, taking part in the Artistic Practices and Project Development programme with curators Fernanda Lopes and Ana Maria Maia. He held his third solo show at Galeria Ista (Porto Alegre, 2022), as part of the Mercosul Biennial's Open Doors project.
